Audi Club NW

I have been a track day driver since 2004 when I had my first High Performance Driver Education day with ProFormance Driving School…which was the beginning of the slippery slope into a hobby that became a passion.

 

I have been teaching High Performance Drivers Education, car control clinics, and teen street survival with Audi Club NW since 2011, and this is by far the most gratifying part my track driving to date! I taught skiing for 10 years with Powder Pigs, and really forgot how much fun it is to coach and teach on a casual level, and Audi Club allowed me to discover again how much fun it is to lead people to those ‘Ah ha!’ moments! And if during the course of teaching car control to teens and adults, I can save someone from a terrible moment by teaching them to be a better driver, I am paid back 10 fold for volunteering my time like this.

 

My amazing wife; instigator of most mischief and frequently referred to as ‘the keeper of my sanity’. Jane has also been one of the greatest influences in making what I feel is a much smarter person, I mean some of her brilliance had to rub off on me right?

 

Friends, Family, and Food...The 3 F's of Life

Being blessed enough to have a majority of my extended family in the area and almost all of my friends, I am able to indulge in the feeding and caring of this disparate group. The best days are always the ones when I can gather one, some, or all the family and/or friends that are like family around a table, put food in front of them, wine in their glasses and then stir the conversational pot…everybody usually forgives the other in the morning if politics come up.

 

After 30 years in the restaurant business I can’t get away from need to feed people and bring them together for a time just to relax with food and conversation…I guess I could have worse bad habits? Restaurants are something I will always miss for the familial aspect and the leading of a crew of brigands forward, only to have people stop you to say how amazing your team is…one of the best things I can imagine!

 

Food to Houses

Real estate has felt like a hand into glove transition from the years of running fine dining restaurants. Managing a great experience over a dinner that is milestone event for someone is not really so different than buying or selling a house… success is in the details and managing to the persons expectations I am working with, and then trying my hardest to exceed those expectations.
